Broadcast - 25 February 2024

Now for something completely different - for our club. NTARC will be opening the club rooms on Wednesday the 6th of March. Not for a normal Technical Night but for a group gathering to watch the REAST presentation on “Space Junk and Amateur Radio”. Rather than sit at home watching, feel free to come along and watch it on a large screen TV, in a distraction and stress free environment. With the only stress being which beveridge and cake to select while watching. I know it’s not looking good to receive the DVB/T RF broadcast off air but we should be able to make do with the REAST YouTube streaming service. Doors will be open by 7:00 pm. It will be intriguing to see how “us” as Amateurs can be of any assistance, I can’t wait to find out, see you Wednesday.

Mug Order - yes, we are talking about the white mugs for drinking out of, those that have our club logo on one side, personalised with your name and call sign on the other. We are placing another order so if you would like one then please see André at the Friday coffee mornings or at the Wednesday bi-weekly club Technical Nights. Those members who have already requested a mug, please email secretary@ntarc.net to confirm order, and anyone else who wants one please specify what name is to be printed above the call sign. The final price will be about $12 depending on eventual quantity ordered.

Additional Discord page - Phil VK7ZPD has set up a discord page that is dedicated to Slow Scan TV or SSTV. Can be used for any SSTV experimentation. Eminently suitable for the State-wide SSTV experimentation on Thursday nights. The page is simply called “sstv-2024” it will give participants the ability to discuss problems or supply information on the images sent. An excellent idea Phil, so if you are experimenting or participating in the SSTV nights and don’t have access to NTARC Discord, please send me an e-mail at secretary@ntarc.net and I will pass it on.
