43 years with Airservices Australia, from the top end to the bottom end and several places between; maintaining ground based communication and navigation equipment. Locations included Gove in Arnhem Land, Warburton and Giles in W.A, Alice Springs, Woomera and even Strahan and King Island.
Came to Tasmania for a two year transfer in 2007 and has been here since.
A working collection of military radios is growing.
Peter has been a Scout leader for more than 30 years and is currently the Project Commissioner for Radio and Electronics including the State Coordinator for JOTA.
It’s rumoured he’s restoring a Land Rover radio vehicle, but it’s very shy and, so far, has only ventured a few metres out of the garage.
