Attendance at coffee morning on Friday 16th was a great turnout, with a total of 22 sitting around enjoying the social catch up and enjoying the laden table of food. Thank you to our lady members who once again excelled themselves with cream filled sponges, sausage rolls and cakes. A trait of NTARC is that no one ever goes hungry at our gatherings.

As promised last week we now provide you with a brief report of the events of the April General meeting held last Saturday 10th April, so we now hand over to Idris VK7ZIR;

“Meeting commenced at 14:02 with a good attendance. The meeting progressed at a rapid rate through the agenda and closed at 14:23.

Our new Webmaster Roger VK7ARN took the members through the new website and advised that it was now accessible at www.ntarc.net though still under construction. When the member’s area is completed, there will be photo galleries, access to meeting minutes, a buy and sell area and much more.

The minutes of the meeting will be written up in coming days and will be loaded up on the members section of the website. When the member’s area is fully functional, members will be given password access. If members have any suggestions or comments re the website then please do not hesitate to contact the Webmaster Roger VK7ARN webmaster@ntarc.net

Thanks for that update, Idris. We now normally pass the baton to Nic VK7WW to give you an update on the happenings of the TestNet and TechNet, but Nic has informed us that due to other pressing commitments, he will have to step down as Net Controller, leaving the position vacant if anyone else wants to put their hand up. Nic originally started the TechNet to fill in the void left by the shutdown of our Tech Sessions at the Clubrooms due to the COVID-19 regulations. He has been conducting the TechNet on 80 metres for over 12 months now and in that time, added the TestNet for those wanting to try out their QRP creations or new or modified equipment. This has been a truly remarkable achievement which has sustained our members over this period, until Clubroom activities recommenced. He has been ably assisted by Paul VK7KPA who hosted a Discord session every for every Net so that others without RF capability could participate. So thank you Nic for all your hard work, and for making yourself available every week. We understand that you will still be “around the band” sometimes, but not in a controller capacity.

UPCOMING EVENTS

TECH NIGHT – Wednesday 21st April at the NTARC Club rooms 19:30 hours until whenever. Continuous tea and coffee will be available, although a gold coin donation for the evening would be appreciated. The Discord on-line session that normally accompanies the TechNet 80 meter event will also be alive, to allow members who cannot be present in person to continue their participation via that medium.

TESTNET AND TECHNET SESSION – Discontinued as previously explained, but if you give Nic a call on his favourite 80 metre band, he may be about.

TECH NIGHT – Wednesday 5th May at the NTARC Club rooms 19:30 hours until whenever.

JUNE GENERAL MEETING - Saturday 12th June commencing at 14:00 (2:00 pm). Further information on this meeting will be advertised in the weekly broadcast news.

COFFEE MORNINGS – currently held every Friday in the NTARC Club rooms. Catch up time is from 10.00 am to noon and we look forward to seeing you all.

These coffee events in the past have been normally a good opportunity to collect your QSL cards. Currently we have a few cards awaiting collection from past deliveries.

FINALLY – A reminder to all members that if you have any items of news you would like added to our weekly roundup, no matter how trivial, then please email me at the following address ntarc.emails@gmail.com, all items to be received no later than 17:00 on the Friday prior to the Broadcast.

Your continued cooperation in this regard will be greatly appreciated.

We will bring you all such contributions next Sunday morning.

73, Yvonne VK7FYMX, Secretary NTARC Inc
